Visual Acuity - The degree to which a person can see fine detail clearly and is dependent on the eye forming a sharp image on the retina.

Visual Field - The area in front of the eye, within which an object can be seen, without moving the eye. The human visual field extends to approximately 60 degrees nasally, 100 degrees temporally, 60 degrees above and 75 degrees below. The fields of each eye partly overlap to form the binocular visual field allowing both peripheral and central visual fields. The visual field can be affected by damage to the visual pathway as in glaucoma or stroke.

Vitrectomy - VR Surgery - Removal of the whole or part of the vitreous humour of the eye either during complicated eye surgery or due to loss of transparency from haemorrhaging or floaters.

Vitreous Detachment - Separation of the vitreous humour from the underlying retina and is usually due to age. It can also occur due to trauma and may lead to a tear in the retina or a retinal detachment.

Vitreous Humour - Transparent, jelly-like substance that occupies the space behind the lens in the eye.
