20 May 2009

Sky News reported on one of Optegra's patients, Nigel Cook - a sufferer of myopic macular degeneration for many years, and how he went from being registered partially blind, to regaining his driving license.

Former policeman Nigel Cook, who had suffered for many years with myopic macular degeneration had the IOL VIP (Intra Ocular Lens for Visually Impaired People) procedure in early 2009. Unable to see his children nor his wife, and registered partially blind, the lens treatment restored his sight and he not only was able to see his family once again, but he regained his independence, including his driving licenses from the DVLA. Sky News reported the story.
