Step 1: Your in-depth consultation

Your first visit to Optegra will set the tone for the whole experience: reassuringly rigorous, but with lots of opportunity for you to ask questions.

At the first consultation our clinical team will spend around one and a half hours examining your eyes in detail, and taking you through the various treatment options. Your surgeon will talk you through all the treatments available and will explain the best possible option for you and your eyes.

Step 2: Before the procedure

On the day of your procedure, your surgeon and the Optegra clinical team will be waiting to welcome you. We want you to feel completely at ease, so you will also have plenty of time to ask your surgeon any questions that may be on your mind.

Step 3: During the procedure

Prior to beginning the treatment, your surgeon will administer anaesthetic eye drops. Once the drops have taken effect, your surgeon will begin the treatment. Just 15 minutes after receiving the initial anaesthetic, your procedure will be over, and you will be taken through to our recovery room.

Step 4: Rest and recovery

We recommend all of our patients spend a little time resting with us before leaving. After a quiet evening at home and a good night’s sleep, your eyes will be feeling much more comfortable and you will be able to return to work – with a superb new quality of vision. And, of course, your surgeon or a member of our team will be on-hand to provide you with any advice or reassurance if you need this.
