I am a Moorfield’s trained Medical Retina consultant with specialist expertise in retinal disorders including age-related macular degeneration and diabetes. I am an expert in complex cataract surgery in patients with these conditions. I have specialist knowledge on non-scarring lasers for diabetes. The experience gained, and research conducted during my 4 years at Moorfield’s, fueled my clinical and research interests. I spent another 4 years, training at Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital as a registrar and a fellow. I also work at St James’s Hospital, Leeds as a Medical Retina Consultant.
In terms of more specific aspects of my specialty practice at Optegra, I treat both Private and NHS patients, where I specialize in micro-incision cataract surgery (phacoemulsification), complex cataract surgery in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) patients, complex cataract surgery in diabetic patients, AMD and diabetic retinopathy management, LASER treatment for diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy, management of other retinal conditions like vein occlusion and vitreo-macular traction and complex inherited/genetic retinal conditions.
My hobby is cricket for which I have qualified as an Umpire. I am married with 2 children.
