Say Aun graduated in medicine from Queen’s University of Belfast in 1994 and and was appointed as a Consultant in Ophthalmology in 2006. He began his Ophthalmology career at Cheltenham General Hospital and then trained as Senior House Officer at several London hospitals including St Thomas’ Hospital before moving to the Northwest to become a registrar. At Liverpool following the completion of his registrar training, Say Aun undertook advanced specialty training in Cornea & Refractive Surgery and Oculoplastics. He has also completed a Cornea, Anterior Segment & Refractive Surgery fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
He has special interests in management of ocular surface and corneal diseases, corneal transplantation, routine and complicated cataract surgery, refractive surgery (laser and premium lens implantations), oculoplastics and general Ophthalmology.
Say Aun has publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented scientific papers and international lectures in Europe and USA. He is a college tutor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a past council member of Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association and regularly examines for the College of Optometrists. He was awarded PGDip CRS (Dist) by University of Ulster in 2017.
