Biography
Ms Gupta trained at Manchester Medical School and also completed an intercalated BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience. Most of her speciality training was undertaken at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Eye Hospital in Edinburgh with a year or so in between on the Leeds rotation. Ms Gupta completed her sub-speciality training in Edinburgh and was also a consultant at Princess Alexandra Eye Hospital in Edinburgh for 3 and a half years before returning to her roots and coming back to Manchester as a consultant in June 2018.
Ms Gupta is a post graduate examiner for ophthalmology exams and part of the Duke Elder subcommittee (this is a prestigious exam for undergraduate medical students keen to pursue a career in Ophthalmology) at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators. Among her other accolades, Ms Gupta is a module lead for MSc Primary care Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer. She is also co-lead for a module for the Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science MSc University of Manchester.
