Don’t miss a shot at Wimbledon 2015

If you’ve got tickets to Wimbledon this year or are watching the tennis tournament from the comfort of your living room, you won’t want to miss a shot due to eyesight problems. We give three tips on how to make sure you catch all the action…

1. Strawberries and cream are one of Wimbledon’s iconic treats, and is actually good for your eye health! Strawberries are packed with vitamin C, which can help protect your eyes from age-related diseases. They also contribute to keeping the blood vessels around your eyes healthy, so stock up on this fruity favourite.

2. Screen fatigue happens when you stare at a screen for long periods of time. If you’re watching the action from home, make sure you take a quick break every 20 minutes by focusing on something 20 meters away for 20 seconds. So time it right and turn up the commentary to make sure you’re not too tired by the final!

3. Sunshine is always welcome when watching the event courtside, but as we explained in our blog post about the importance of sunglasses, make sure you protect your eyes from UV rays that contribute to conditions such as AMD and cataracts.

If you have noticed any changes in your vision or have any concerns about your eye health, be sure to visit your opticians or book a consultation at your nearest Optegra Eye Hospital.
