The Vision of Britain infographic shows that 81% of Brits worry about their eyes - with 85% even saying they would rather lose their sense of taste or hearing than go blind.
However, our eye health is getting worse. Nearly all GPs and opticians agree that the alarming increase in obesity and diabetes is likely to cause more sight loss in the future.
Conditions such as cataracts
and age-related macular degeneration
are the most significant causes of sight loss and blindness in the UK - and as the infographic shows, this is likely to rise in the coming years.
We also learned that sight issues can be frustrating on a day-to-day basis, with 27% of Brits struggling to see food packaging and 17% affected when reading the newspapers.
So while the nation is concerned about their eyesight, we were surprised that 44% of UK adults don't go for an eye test at least every two years.
If you experience any changes in your vision, make sure you book an eye test with your optician as soon as possible.
