Happy 5th birthday, Manchester!

Optegra Eye Hospital Manchester marked it's fifth anniversary this week with a celebratory party for staff and consultants. When the doors to the specialist hospital in Didsbury opened in February 2011, it was the first dedicated eye hospital in the area designed to deliver personalised care to every patient. During its first five years, the Manchester hospital has treated over 10,000 patients and expanded their team to include 21 specialist ophthalmic surgeons

The hospital team have also raised thousands of pounds for charity, including Optegra’s corporate charity Fight For Sight; and most recently as part of the Mission Christmas campaign in partnership with Key 103 FM.

It’s services are far-reaching, with NHS contracts covering 38 CCG’s and counting and also with outreach clinics in Altrincham, making eye treatments more accessible to patients who live outside the city centre.

Today, Optegra Eye Hospital Manchester offers a range of treatments including the Implantable Miniature Telescope (IMT) for macular degeneration as well as a range of options for vision correction
