New sight for Angela in operation

A Shipley woman is one of three employees at the Yorkshire Eye Hospital, in Apperley Bridge, to receive an operation which has banished the need for glasses.

Angela West, 49, had worn glasses from her mid twenties, having always had problems with her long distance vision.

“I found it so frustrating that even wearing glasses I was struggling to read food labels, text messages and the time on my watch,” she said. “I had Clarivu and am now completely free of glasses and my sight is better than when I was wearing them. It means I can work at my computer easily, and even enjoy my Zumba classes without worrying about putting glasses on and off.”

Clarivu is a 20-minute procedure where the natural lens of the eye is replaced permanently with a technically advanced artificial lens.
