Optegra, the leading specialist provider of ophthalmic services in the UK, has today announced the opening of a new private eye hospital in Manchester, as part of its continuing nationwide expansion plans. The Optegra Manchester Eye Hospital, equipped with many of the latest diagnostic and operating equipment, makes the facility one of the most advanced centres in the country for eye care treatments and procedures.
Situated in West Didsbury on Princess Road, the Optegra Manchester Eye Hospital has already attracted 11 of the region’s leading ophthalmic surgeons, and offers the full breadth of eye care treatments, ranging from laser eye surgery and refractive lens exchange through to cataracts, glaucoma, AMD and cosmetic surgery, in addition to many other eye conditions.
According to Gareth Steer, Managing Director of Optegra, today’s launch sees the realisation of a year-long plan to bring the Optegra experience to Manchester: “The large population of Manchester and the surrounding area, many of whom take pride in their appearance but currently wear glasses or suffer eye conditions such as cataracts or glaucoma, makes this region a key market for us.
We’ve made a considerable investment in terms of equipment and facilities, which combined with some of the country’s leading ophthalmic surgeons, gives people in Manchester a new customer experience that delivers the highest quality of treatment and care anywhere in the world.”
Caroline McHugh, Hospital Manager of the Optegra Manchester Eye Hospital, added: “The Optegra Manchester Eye Hospital is a centre of excellence in eye care with state of the art surgical equipment and ultra clean theatre environments. There are few places in the country which can offer the breadth of treatment, world-class equipment and leading expertise from our surgeons and staff that we can.
We’re all very excited to see the launch of this superb facility.”The Optegra Manchester Eye Hospital is the fifth hospital to be opened by Optegra which only last month opened a hospital and a specialist laser eye centre in Quebec Street, Leeds, and has three other hospitals in Surrey, Solent and Birmingham.
