TV presenter Ruth Langsford delighted a group of guests at a VIP event this week, having had ClarivuTM permanent lens replacement to transform her vision.
Hosted at the beautiful golf centre, The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, Ruth, 53, shared the story of her wonderful new vision with local people.
She explained to the 90 local guests how her poor vision caused her no end of challenges at work: “Life before the procedure was very irritating and frustrating. It was particularly difficult at work if I had to switch from reading the autocue or interviewing guests to checking facts on my notes. I would need to have my glasses to hand at all times, to put them on to read my notes and then take them off again to speak to the guest.”
She was eager to improve her vision and so she chose to have Clarivu permanent lens replacement, a procedure where the lens of her eyes was replaced with individually tailored lenses which corrected both her long and short sight. The painless 20 minute procedure has left Ruth with perfect vision. And no more glasses!
Speaking to the group, Ruth described the impact Clarivu has had on her life, which she describes as ‘liberating and life-changing’. She was also joined by nine other Clarivu ambassadors, giving interested people the opportunity to ask local patients about their personal experience.
These included Lynn Moseley (pictured with Ruth Langsford), who is not only delighted to have vastly improved vision now she has had Clarivu, but who also discovered in her free consultation that she had a dangerous retinal tear – without that consultation, her vision was at great risk.
Three specialist eye surgeons from Optegra Birmingham Eye Hospital, talked through the procedure and answered questions.
As guests enjoyed their meal, Ruth shared her joy: “Now I don’t have to carry the paraphernalia of glasses, reading glasses, driving glasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses – and I feel younger and more confident. I can look down at my script in the studio and read things without panicking about not having my glasses. If you’re thinking of having Clarivu, I’d definitely say ‘do it, do it, do it!’.
