Dr Andreas Hartwig is an optometrist from Germany with considerable international clinical and research experience. After graduating as an optometrist in 2007, Andreas gained several years experience managing an optometric practice. He subsequently decided to concentrate more on research, came to the UK and was awarded with a PhD from The University of Manchester for his work in myopia.  He spent time working as a researcher in a laboratory in Australia and after completion of the PhD project he worked as a clinical trials manager for an international contact lens manufacturer. He has published several scientific articles in various peer reviewed journals. Previously he worked as an Eye Sciences Research Associate on a KTP funded research collaboration between Optegra Eye Sciences and The University of Manchester.  His current role at Optegra as Clinicial Research Manager includes developing Optegra's clinical research programmes.
