Biography

Mr Francesco Stringa is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Glaucoma.

Mr Stringa attained his medical degree at the University of Pavia, Italy in 2011 and completed his core training in Opthalmology at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2016. After his training, he completed a Research Fellowship at the Manchester Vision Regeneration Lab, as well as a further two Glaucoma Fellowships at St Thomas’ Hospital London and Nottingham University Hospital. During these fellowships Mr Stringa developed his expertise in glaucoma treatments and surgical procedures.

Mr Stringa believes that continuously improving glaucoma surgery outcomes is essential to restoring his patients’ vision and improving their quality of life. Thus, he is actively involved in improving glaucoma services in his current posts by implementing the use of recent evidence-based surgical devices.

In recognition of his clinical and research work, Mr Stringa is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences and meetings on the clinical outcomes of glaucoma surgery. He is actively involved in clinical research and regularly publishes in high impact journals such as the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
