Located in Colindale, in the borough of Barnet, the Optegra North London Eye Hospital welcomes patients in state-of-the-art facilities specialising in cataract surgery, delivered by our fully NHS-trained ophthalmologist surgeons

The NHS waiting times for cataract surgery have grown over the past few years, with some patients having to wait a year to access treatment. By getting referred to our Colindale eye clinic, NHS patients can access our high-tech cataract treatment in as little as six weeks.

Our partnership with the NHS means your GP or optician can refer you to our clinic for your NHS cataract surgery. We also offer world-class laser eye surgery and eye treatments at our Central London Eye Hospital.

Optegra eye hospital group is rated five-star by independent review sites Doctify and Trust Pilot.

How to secure referral to Optegra

If you have been diagnosed with a cataract and are keen to have treatment sooner rather than later, Optegra North London will be able to help.

Cataract can develop slowly over time, causing blurred vision, clouding of vision and even double vision for some people. As it happens so gradually, patients often do not realise how badly their eyesight had deteriorated until they have the actual treatment — and then they say they can see in HD!

The procedure is pain-free and the most commonly performed elective surgery in the NHS — it takes only around 20 minutes and is conducted as a day case procedure with no need for any overnight stays.

To secure your own timely NHS treatment at Optegra North London, simply ask your GP or community optician to refer you.
