Biography

Mr Omar Rafiq is an ophthalmologist based at Optegra Eye Hospital in Sheffield. He is also a consultant ophthalmologist (glaucoma and anterior segment) at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. He has previously worked at Al Zahra Hospital, UAE.

He has special interests in cataract surgery, glaucoma, including MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), and general ophthalmology.

Mr Rafiq gained his medical qualification from the University of Leeds in 2005. He went on to obtain his CCT from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists UK in 2014, as well as his FRCOphth. In 2019, he gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from Ulster University.
