Mr Mahmoud Radwan is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Optegra Eye Hospital Colchester, specialising in cataract surgery, lens replacement surgery, and treatment of presbyopia (age-related difficulty with reading vision). He looks after private, insured, and NHS patients and is known for his calm manner, precision, and patient-focused care.

With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Radwan has successfully performed many thousands of procedures, including cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange and premium lens implantation. He uses the latest technology, to achieve the safest and best possible outcomes.

He is an active member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the European Glaucoma Society, and the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society. In addition, he is the UK Principal Investigator for major international studies, including the STAR VI and STAR LIFE trials, helping to shape the future of eye care.
