We’re proud to announce, Optegra Eye Health Care is the first UK eye hospital group to roll out Covid vaccinations to all its staff.
With the support of NHS Trusts, all patient-facing staff across the core regions where Optegra has hospitals – Yorkshire, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Surrey and Hampshire – are being vaccinated; both to protect the health of individual employees and patients.

Optegra Medical Director, Mr Amir Hamid, said: “We are truly humbled to be included in the vaccination programme and take it as our responsibility to protect ourselves, our families and our patients.
“All our hospitals are continuing to open throughout lockdown so that we can provide essential cataract operations – both NHS and private – as well as treatments for retinal conditions and vision correction surgery.
“These procedures make a tremendous difference to quality of life and so we are delighted we can continue to provide this service, and now that we can vaccinate all our staff, we have an extra level of health protection for both employees and patients.”
The vaccination programme is the next step in a range of procedures which Optegra Eye Health Care has set up to be as responsible as possible in protecting patients and staff – from virtual consultations, to weekly Covid-tests for staff, pre-appointment screening for patients, temperature checks, sanitiser, PPE, deep cleaning and reduced numbers patients present at any one time.
