Optegra, the UK’s leading eye hospital, has appointed two of the country’s leading consultant ophthalmic surgeons to the Optegra Solent Eye Hospital.
Mr. Yit Fung Yang and Mr Rakesh Jayaswal, both leaders in their fields, have joined the specialist eye hospital, strengthening Optegra’s commitment to provide patients across Hampshire with the widest range of eye care treatments, performed by the best surgeons, using the latest technology and surgical procedures.
Optegra Solent Eye Hospital, at Solent Business Park in Whiteley, Hampshire opened earlier this year, and is the only specialist private eye hospital of its kind in the region. The hospital has already attracted some of the UK’s most eminent ophthalmic surgeons, and uses the latest technology for procedures such as laser eye surgery, cataract and glaucoma treatment as well as cosmetic eye surgery.

Mr Yit Fung Yang, who boasts a background of specialist training in all areas of retinal surgery, is one of the surgeons joining Optegra. He specialises in vitreoretinal surgery, a procedure that corrects retinal diseases of the eye, and the treatment of macular degeneration, an eye condition that leads to the gradual loss of central vision.
Also joining Optegra is Mr Rakesh Jayaswal, who specialises in the treatment of corneal and anterior eye disease, cataract and refractive surgery, a procedure which corrects patients near and far vision by replacing the old lens with a new one.
