Optegra Hampshire and Optegra Manchester hosted two weekend training events for around 50 pre-registration optometrists. These are optometrists who have completed their university training and are in their first year as practising optometrists. The events featured a range of lectures, slit lamp workshops and case analyses as well as communication sessions. Optegra optometrists Oliver Bowen-Thomas, Christa Gore, Richard Walsh, Louise Stainer and Clare O’Donnell led the practical and lecture sessions, supported by Hampshire and Manchester staff. Surgeon Mr David Anderson gave an entertaining review of ocular disease and referral pathways. Both events were a great success evidenced by the feedback from the Vision Express delegates.
