I aim so pleased that my GP referred me to Optegra, Guildford when I complained about the sudden onset of floaters in my vision. I had heard a lot about this condition in the past and thought it was just something that was inevitable with advancing years. I was amazed when I was told during my consultation with the consultant that my retina was about to detach, due to a recent tear and, if I wanted to retain my sight in my left eye, I should return that same afternoon to have the tear "glued down" either by laser or by freezing.
I duly returned and the operation was successfully completed using freezing technology and I apparently now have the same chance of continuing to see normally as any other person.
Although this happened very suddenly and was quite a shock, the team at Optegra, lead by Andrew Luff instilled confidence from start to finish and I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone and I would certainly return should I ever need any more attention to my eyes.
