Dr Irene Siso-Fuertes

Research Associate

Dr Irene Siso-Fuertes is a highly qualified optometrist and researcher from Spain with substantial research experience. After her graduation as an optometrist in 2010, Dr Siso-Fuertes completed her Master’s degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences for which she was awarded with the best transcript of records, all while gaining invaluable clinical experience.

As a highly talented researcher, she was appointed as Fellow of the AGEYE Marie Curie Initial Training which aims to strengthen the training between leading academic centres and the industrial world in Europe by focusing on experience-based training through cross-disciplinary projects. She has completed her PhD focused on investigating the age-related changes in the eye at the University of Manchester in 2017.

Joining Optegra in 2018 as a Research Associate within the Eye Sciences team, she plays a key role in research and development within the hospitals as well as publishing the findings in leading ophthalmic journals.
