I joined Optegra Eye Hospital Manchester in July 2014.
I completed medical school at Palacky University in Czech Republic in 1999. In 2004 I was awarded a Diploma of Specialisation in Ophthalmology by the Institute of Postgraduate Education within Health Care in Prague, Czech Republic. In 2006 I was awarded with the Certificate of European Specialized Qualification for Ophthalmology by the Ministry of Health, Prague, Czech Republic. Over the last 14 years I have gained extensive experience in cataract surgery (small incision cataract surgery including complex cataract cases), general ophthalmology (glaucoma , uveitis, cornea and acute ophthalmology) and medical retinal disease (Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Vein Occlusion) including diagnostic, monitoring and treatment with laser and intravitreal injections.
I joined the NHS in 2009 and my first job was at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. Later I was appointed at Central Manchester University Hospital and lead a high volume cataract service. At the beginning of 2014 I was appointed to work at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon.
