Mr Masood is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Optegra Eye Hospital Birmingham.
As well as dealing with the full range of general ophthalmic conditions he has a special interest in the assessment, diagnosis and medical and surgical management of all forms of glaucoma.
He holds the fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and has undergone training in the management of complex glaucoma at the Moorfields Eye Hospital.
He has a particular interest in complicated cataract surgery, cataract surgery in glaucoma patients and in microinvasive glaucoma procedures. He is a national leader in the field of microinvasive glaucoma surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in the UK to use the istent and has performed the largest series of istent procedures in complex glaucoma patients. He was the first in the UK to use the new Hydrus stent and is currently conducting a clinical trial of this procedure
He is actively involved in training and research and has published a number of scientific papers. He has also given presentations at various meetings around the world.
