Past professional history
Mr Kashani's ophthalmic training was based around various prestigious London teaching hospitals including Kings College hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as well as the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. At Moorfields, he was selected and completed advanced subspecialty training in uveitis and complex retinal disorders. He is one of handful of ophthalmologists who has achieved the prestigious membership of the Royal College of Physicians as well as obtaining fellowship status from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Mr Kashani has an active interest in ophthalmic research with over 40 peer reviewed publications and abstracts, as well as over 25 national and international posters and presentations.
Mr Kashani is currently employed as a NHS substantive consultant by East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust Eastbourne but retains strong ties to London. He has developed the retina service in this busy unit over the last four years by training optometrists to examine retina patients and nurse practitioners to carry out intravitreal injections. He has helped to design a modern bespoke macular degeneration service to deal with ever increasing demands.
Mr Kashani has lectured extensively to local optometrists, GPs and patient groups and was an invited speaker in 2015 at the Royal College of Optometrists.

He is the educational supervisor in Eastbourne and overlooks training of junior ophthalmologists - particularly in cataract surgery.
