Mr Wisam Muen  MB ChB MRCS.Ed  FRCOphth



Mr Wisam Muen is an advanced cataract surgeon and has specialist expertise in squints, children’s eye problems and corneal problems. He is a substantive NHS Consultant appointed at the Kingston NHS Foundation Trust and has received Excellence Award for his services in the NHS.

Mr Wisam Muen qualified from Manchester University, he then went on to complete a General Surgery rotation leading to the award of Diploma Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Surgery.

He trained in Ophthalmology at St Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool and in Scotland. He was accepted to do advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Bart’s & the London Hospital where he also was involved in treating children with eye cancers. He then undertook another fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

He is involved in the training of junior eye doctors and regularly teaches nurses and other allied health professionals. He is also the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Representative for his unit.

Mr Muen is also actively involved in research and has published many articles in international journals.
He has extensive experience in Ophthalmology and offers consultations for all eye complaints including red eye, painful eye, dry eye, blurry vision and eye emergencies.
